When ILX debuted, it split the discussion between Honda/Acura enthusiasts. Some felt ILX was the perfect addition to the bottom end of Acura line-up, plugging the void left by Integra and RSX. Others felt the ILX cheapened the brand and was too similar to the Civic.

This little video lets two Si drivers decide, how exactly did Acura do with the ILX?

its a dressed up civic but with a bit more class ;)

speaking of civics have you guys looked in to the new turbo type r in europe. Man I think its time they brought that engine and stuffed it in to the ILX. I would be fun, fast and efficient.

The impression that I get from this video is that there really isn't that much different between the Civic and the ILX. The differences that there are, don't seem to be that severe. It all comes back to how much more you are getting for your money. many people feel that for the difference in price that the ILX commands, $26.900 compared to $18,165, you should get a bit more.

It sometimes makes you consider getting a fully loaded civic instead of an ILX.

You could also buy a Mercedes-Benz CLA for around the same price, so the competition is pretty stiff.

You can buy the CLA, but the cost of ownership will be much higher, it's not really a natural transition for a Honda owner, especially someone buying the cheapest Honda/Acura.

I say stick to the ILX or look into buying a slightly used TL.
