Theres always been a long time running debate as to which one is better than the other. A lot of the times it just boils down to personal taste. So which one would you do to the ILX and why? Don't just say "this is cheaper", "this is more reliable", etc......... actually explain why you chose that.

personally i always notice a lot of honda and acura cars benefit a lot from a supercharger. hondas are known for high reving, free flowing motors. a supercharger would give it that extra torque down low that most honda motors need.

All i know is full race produces a turbo kit for the R18 which i have no idea why and they also have a turbo kit for the K20 Block and k24 black as far as im concerned boost will be very doo able, but why would anyone want to do that to a fwd, N/A high revving motor from a race car driver point of view.

In all honesty i would super charge the car to compensate for low end torque.

I would probably go with the supercharger to keep the characteristics of the motor and keep the power linear across the board instead off turbo charging it. When turbo kicks in, theres too much thrust and all that torque at once can be dnagerous and prematurely wear out parts not to mention the maintenance. Even though both need maintenance I would stick it out for the supercharger in a long run.

No idea.. you'd have to find someone to find the tollerances measure the pistons and see the height difference.

Theres a lot to go by when you do stuff like this esp when your the furst person, need to find out piston bore size and stroke and the over all compression when the 2 blocks are joined!

Because sometimes, oversteer just isn't good enough. Sometimes you wanna just nose it into the wall.

Are we talking a street set-up ?.....road race set-up ? or drag racing ?
Good question. Judging from the typical ILX buyer I would stay street set-up for now. I think it will be a while before we see guys that want to run just a road race set-up or just drag.

We can divide this into individual threads for street, road race, and drag to make it more interesting!

There is a trade.. most people know that turbo = high end power and supercharger gives you a smooth power band throughout. BUT here is the thing, with any trade.. Turbos typically function better with an auto-tranny due to not having to release the throttle; in turn reducing boost lost from shifts. On the other end the Supercharger will give you more "real world" driving power and will be noticeable at any RPM really.. BUT you will lose MPGs. I personally prefer Superchargers for nostalgia and the "feel" of a smooth power band.. BUT it comes to personal preference I know a lot of people who like the surge you get from a turbo, and if you get the right BOV those sound really cool.. my .02cents. Before you do either I think a Limited Slip Diff would be a worthy upgrade.

..and that's my second biggest gripe about my 2.4L 6mt ; no LSD.
It seems silly that Acura decided to go without.. It's not like leaving it out gives it more of a luxurious feel and it's not a huge price for a manufacture to add it.

Honestly I don't see myself exploring anything more than a coil-over kit ,lightweight wheels, some exhaust tweeks and an upgrade from Hondata

good point, maybe we will see it in the future? or on a performance model?

when car makers do things like this i always feel their leaving room to improve the model in the future. if they offer too much the car will become boring instantly.

They can say or do what they want.. it was to cut costs BUT my confusion is.. I know the cost difference is next to nothing. I just recently found out the 2.4 doesn't even have a stiffer suspension than the others in the line.. odd as there is a 90hp difference from the hybrid and a 50hp difference from the 2.0.. anyways LSD and suspension are firsts for me. I'll go supercharger down the road.. if you haven't been in a supercharged car I suggest you find one and listen to it at WOT.. pure sex.

After running through the first couple of gears on lunch break I want to say that the 1-4 shifts come so quickly that it would be difficult to advantage from turbo anyways... Hopefully a manufacturer will offer a gear to scale that back a bit, that will allow the car to stay in the first couple of gears for a bit longer and if boosted the car would have more time to advantage from the boost.
