The Acura ILX Is The Modern Day Infiniti G20

The Truth About Cars must have a love and hate relationship with the ILX, based on the number of articles they have written about it. Many of them criticizing yet defending the ILX. I don't think they fully know themselves what to think. Anyways, here's their newest article arguing that the ILX is the modern day G20.

I am talking, of course, about the Acura ILX, which is the first-generation Infiniti G20, only 20 years later. I know what you’re thinking: How dare DeMuro desecrate the memory of the holy Infiniti G20 by comparing it with some crappy Acura! But I’ve actually prepared some intelligent thoughts on the topic, which is rare, so please bear with me.

For those of us who are asking "What the hell is an Infiniti G20?!"

I think the black cloud that surrounded the ILX at first will dissipate.. it was popular to dislike the ILX and that's why they all said the same things.. "it's too much like a Civic" when in reality.. it's much different in the aspects of everything you feel and see.

Good post, thanks for sharing this.
It's interesting because most of the critics of the ILX are people who review cars for a living.

Then there are consumer reviews, from what i've read, have been typically very positive.

2013 Acura ILX Consumer Reviews
2013 Acura ILX Consumer Reviews
2013 Acura ILX Reviews & ratings - Yahoo! Autos
etc...
They have a point, just look at all of the ILX's predecessors, they were nothing more than fancy Honda Civic's. The Acura 1.6EL, 1.7EL & CSX and just weren't true luxurious vehicles. For the first time in the long time we get something that isn't just a fancy Honda Civic, it's far more than that.
