that plastic ring will pop down with force. i know what i just said sounds scary but once it pops down use a wrench then youre good to remove it. i have the same knob and i want it to sit lower too but only way to do that is actually to cut the threads.
Skunk2 shift knob
Had my Skunk2 shift knob from my Civic Si laying around so decided to put it in yesterday, looks ok to me, just wish it sat lower, I was unable to fully remove the collar so I could screw it all the way down. Is there a DIY on removing it? I didn't want to rip the boot trying to get it off
