Should we expect any changes for 2014 ILX?

DO you expect any updates to the 2014 model? What would be fair to upgrade?

I have no idea how long the life cycle is for the ILX. When will it be freshed? The Civic got a refresh recently, wonder if the ILX will.

My guess for the life span of the ILX would be around 4-5 years before they do refresh for the model. I do hope for updates on a more higher horsepower or at least replace the 2.0 with the 2.4L and put an automatic transmission in it. At the moment Acura is probably focusing on the TLX and prepping the RLX for it release.
I read that Acura is making some tweaks regarding some of the criticisms the ILX has been receiving. They recognize consumer complaints about the ILX being underpowered and wanting something sportier. But overall they have been pretty vague about this. By mentioning this, I feel that it could be a major refresh but who knows.

Seeing how much better the ILX is compared to it's predecessors, I can see it running for a bit longer. Honda put a lot of work into the 9th gen civic and ILX so it could even be a 7-8 year production run.
I really hope they dont run the ILX 7-8 years before refresh I think 4-5 years is reasonable nowadays. I think shorter refreshment periods would help keep consumers interested and to give them a sense of improvement which Acura needs.

Luxury brands usually stay in the 3-5 year range.
They will probably upgrade the screen.. The new accord has a massive screen and is far more up to date
What you want is the tech package on a 2.4 manual.

I leave a costume screen saver on most of the time to show off the resolution on the huge tech package navi screen. :D

F u, man.. F u! Lol I would of bought tech if it was offered to the 2.4L models.. Honda's marketing team needs fired from the Acura division.
I gotta go with Trent on this one. No way I'd trade 50 H.P. for a slush box. My Garmin Nuvi 50
works just fine.
To each their own. here is how I see it.

2.4 has an extra 50hp I couldnt even feel.
Aside from that I cant think of any other "advantages" and we all already saw how posted specs dont accurately translate to track times... look at the leading competitor to the ilx.

2.0 tech got me a MUCH better sound system. The higher watt ELS surround sound is amazing. Blows away the system I pieced together previously for easily over 500$
The screen as I was going to post, is huge in comparison to the premium models. I dont even understand why they shorted the non-tech packages with the screen size.
And with the 15g of onboard memory. I can forget my flashdrive at work, phone dead, and ive still got all my music built into the car.
When I go to sell, I have the tech package, the highest package offered. Works for me.

50hp really wasnt much of a loss for me. Plus, Im a tuner. Cars are my life. It is taking every ounce of me to not drop money into this car while she is leased and just enjoy putting money elsewhere. Once this lease is over and I refinance I know fact she'll quickly be one of the most tuned ILXs out there. That 50hp handicap wont mean shit 2 years from now.

Im willing to give up 50hp I cant feel and will make up for in the future for a dash I never have to replace or add to.

It is a to each his own.. I traded from an AT for the purpose of getting the MT.. I don't mind the 2L actually and like I said I would of paid for the tech if it were offered. I do have to save as far as the speed of it the 2.4L is definitely faster by a long shot but if you're not looking to drive spirited then I think the 2L is MORE than enough for a daily commuter. I was pleased with its mild manners when I test drove it.. I just wanted more fun personally or else I would of stayed in my TSX Tech

Don't get me wrong either.. I think all the Tech features are well worth it and the R18 has turbo options so maybe eventually the R20 will which will easily compensate for its speed difference in comparison to a stock K24. The 2L is by far the better daily commuter and the tech package is the way I'd go for sure!
These are all good points but for me, I drove the 2L and I could definitely feel the difference
the 50 H.P. made. Besides IMO the MT is just more fun to drive.
Ilxluv, your wallpaper is killer!
The tech features of the 2.0 are great but you can not ignore the engineering and power capability of the K series motors. Especially the K24. Any Honda owner wants one in their civic/integra.

And the 6 speed transmission is a good one (would have been better with the Civic SI LSD )

I ignored it. Wanted a k20 or k24 in my integra.
But tech package tickled my fancy. Seemed more grown up to me. I dunno. To each their own.
Both great cars. I'm sure if Acura offered the tech package on the 2.4 you would have gotten that :)

2.4 auto tech. Without a doubt.
Im going for a vip luxury style so an auto tranny is the way to go. My plans are to sit low on bags and supercharge it.
Would have liked a 2.4L /w auto as well. Can keep the tech, in exchange for a LSD

Besides the 2.4L getting the tech package, is there anything else to expect? Dealerships suck at coughing up information on future packages. Right now in Canada there is only one ILX - > Dynamic /w Tech pacakge.

I kinda want 2.4L /w auto and a sports package of sorts
