Replacing Stock Speakers

Hello! So I recently thought of changing my door speakers as I am not happy with the stock output. I am driving Acura ILX base 2017 and got the JBL Stage 3 607C component system for front doors and Alpine S S65S for rear doors. Upon installation I didn’t feel much difference also the installer guy said the crossovers for JbL are damaged. I bought them a week ago and couldn’t agree on him. Now just after a day or two left door speakers(F/R) both stopped working to which I am not sure as to get the rear one replaced with JBL only or should stick to Alpine itself as I feel the stock amplifier isn’t taking too much load for such heavy speakers. Open for suggestions. Thanks :)

I don't know about adding speakers to a stock system. (Power output and speakers are likely optimized.) Add a small amp to what you got and/or, better, amp (many with built in crossovers) and speakers. That'll change your world.

Easy fix, if you're content with the sound and volume of current system is to add a powered sub in the trunk (with remote output control - 'woofer volume'.) That'll add some real depth to any system and can be had off Amazon for a couple of hundred bucks. Did that for my son's accord (12" powered sub...Blaupunkt or Alpine, dont recall) assuming Honda/Acura factory systems are of similar capability and quality, it's a gamechanger for sure.

I didn't look, and am not familiar with the upgrades you referenced. I just had a minute for some stand alone, general theory advice. Ha

Replacing your stock speakers with aftermarket, high performance car audio speakers is the #1 way to get better sound from a car stereo.
