I've read that pretty much any intake for the 2012 Civic Si will also work on the ILX.

here is one that I found
K&N® - Honda Civic Si 2012 69 Series Typhoon Short Ram Intake Kit

$300
K&N 69 Series Typhoon Short Ram.

2012 Honda Civic Si Air Intakes | Cold Air Intake

Injen makes a short ram as well. AFE makes a throttle body spacer

Injen SP Cold Air Intake?
2012+ Civic Si Injen SP Cold Air Intake

SP Intake Systems These Intake Systems Feature the Patent Pending MR Technology Process for Optimal Gains and a Safe A/F Ratio. The SP series does not limit itself to just a Cold Air System or Short Ram System. The MR Technology process has its effects on both types. SP is The World's First Tuned Intake System.

I have petition Scott @ King Motorsports (US Mugen supplier) but he indicated since Civic production ceased in Japan don't expect anything from Mugen

Is the ILX engine configured the same way? and would their be anything we have to move to make this work? hopefully it's just as easy to install in the ILX as it is with the Civic.

mugen intakes are generally overpriced for the performance gain that you achieve anyways.
Somewhat true but fitment issues and quality is second to none. Perhaps Skunkworks or CT Engineering will show something at SEMA

I haven't seen any teasers or anything of that sort for ILX parts or modded ILX's at the SEMA show. Hopefully something shows up cause the ILX has a ton of potential to do well in the tuner scene.

I never ever oiled a cone or box filter, what difference does it make????

All I did was wash it, let it dry and install

In most cases that i know of, K&N filter elements are oiled. And the reason for that is to mainly repel water and keep dust from sticking to the element.

Yes! The infamous whale penis intake! A crucial JDM mod, does nothing but suck in hot air from the engine bay and makes a growling sound lol
Haha well if you make a head shield for it and configurate it in such a way that only cool air from the outside comes in, it can be better. Plus who doesn't love the growling sound :D

I guess if your mechanically inclined that would work out otherwise for some people they wouldnt want to bother. Especially when they spend over $300 on an intake.
