What do you mean "winter blends of gas". Are you saying that the gas we get at the local gas station in the winter is different than what we get in the summer? You really can't expect the car to be close to optimal fuel mileage until about the 3rd oil change or so. Also winter blends of gas are horrible for mileage.
I agree. I've noticed that until the 3rd oil change the gas mileage is kind of shitty. And winter blends do seem to be worse for mileage. Winter in general seems to be worse. You really can't expect the car to be close to optimal fuel mileage until about the 3rd oil change or so. Also winter blends of gas are horrible for mileage.
Yeah RVP changes and ethanol content increases to around the max 10%. Couple that with changing driving conditions in many areas of the country and you will see a drop in mileage. What do you mean "winter blends of gas". @ Arctic: I think you should give the car some more time to break in, it's been like that with a lot of new cars, I believe this is typical. What is your driving stye like?
Oh, no wonder. Cause on winter days where it wasn't as cold, probably as chilly as a cold spring day, gas mileage was still bad. Always thought it was my vehicle and not the gas or anything else.Yeah RVP changes and ethanol content increases to around the max 10%. Yeah give her some time until they start switching back to better blends and the car is broken in better. I have a 2006 Civic Si and I average 7.5mpg better than listed. On the initial break in after I got her she was getting bad mileage and the winter didn't help. Come spring and summer mileage began to creep up to better than EPA estimates. =)Oh, no wonder.
