All-new car starts at $27,800 in Canada
Acura Canada launched its all-new luxury compact, the 2013 ILX, at dealerships across the country this past week; the car starts at $27,790, or $34,990 for the hybrid.
The ILX, which replaces the Canada-only Honda Civic-based CSX, hit showrooms May 25, and comes in four different trim levels (the top-of-the-line ILX Tech costs $32,290).
The base model comes equipped with a 150-horsepower 2.0-litre four-cylinder; a 201-horsepower 2.4-litre engine is available.
The car is also Acura's first swing at a hybrid model; that version comes with a 1.5-litre gasoline engine supplemented by a 20-horsepower electric motor, good for 111 horsepower total.
The Acura ILX doesn't really have any direct luxury compact competitors in the Canadian market, though the Lexus IS 250 (starting at $32,900) is close.
