suspension first man, it just looks better. A lowered car on OEM wheels look better than a car on aftermarket wheels looking like a 4x4.

^ THIS hands down...

Coil-Overs wont always give it a more harsh ride either.. just depends on settings. Say how low you go vs how soft the suspension itself is.. I personally don't think the ILX comes with a very soft suspension to begin with and it doesn't handle so it's a no brainer in the performance department.. also consider this; if you goto a larger wheel set-up you'll be looking at new tires. I don't think anyone with an ILX is already worn their stockers out yet.

In short: Coil-overs would be the best bang for buck in appearance, ride, performance and cost.

I have a set of Tein Basics waiting in my garage for my Si, i wonder if they will fit on the ILX?????

this all depends on the driver really. For my other cars that i had i did the exhaust and intake first but both dont compare to when i got a set of coilovers. You feel the difference right away. And if you have a good set that lets you tweek and adjust, then you could set it to your liking.

I think suspension is gonna be better to do first.. 1) you can wear out those expensive Michelins that acura put on there (instead of new tires with new rims) 2) you will gain a noticeable performance difference 3) you will still get an appearance mod 4) aftermarket wheels wont fix the car's gap!

I think doing wheels fist would be bad since the car would not look right, but suspension first would still look good with stock wheels.
Thats right my friend suspension will not only help with handling characteristic but also help with the ride height gap in the wheel wells. If Acura ever implement the type s line with lowered suspension from factory then thats when you can jump to changing your wheels. too bad though.

Suspension in my opinion.
I went with WHEELS (not rims) first with my integra. Once I finally got a set of nice coilovers I hated myself for waiting so long.

For me, Im going to be spending more on wheels than my suspension so that makes me want to go suspension first but my ilx is leased so Ill wait til I refinance.

Lol I usually buy exhaust first :/ but out of the two get whatever you get the best deal on first. If I found a great deal on some sick wheels I would pick them up in a heartbeat, same goes with coilovers. If your paying retail then personally I'd get suspension first so you can get the height and feel your after then find wheels that fit.

And 20" wheels on an ilx will look like a jada toy car in my opinion the size if the car itself doesn't support a wheel that size not to mention all the weight and rotating mass you will be adding to a car that doesnt make s ton of tq. 18's are the biggest I would get, now if it were a TL or Accord sized car then 19's/20's would be fine and look right.

Just my .02 cents

Ageed. Minus the wheels statement. I honestly think Ill end up with 19s now. But this is with a VIP style in mind.

Everything else is spot on. Go with the deals.
Aside from that, springs are on their way. Wheels to come with my tax return.

Doing a VIP style I could see bags, 18/19 inch wheels, etc. you gonna go all out drapes on the rear windows champagne style cup holder thingy and all? I can't wait to see it!

To anyone reading my comments mine are more with performance in mind, so if you are going VIP ignore my comments... Lol. If I had purchased an auto ilx I would probably be leaning to a more VIP set up to, but I've always been scared of bags and z very bouncy awkward ride. I know they have gotten better over time with better technology, so I'm curious to see how good the ride is.

From what I hear bags have gotten as good as a static drop when it comes to quality and comfort. Just gotta pay to play when it comes to air. Static is still a cheaper easier route to take. When I say easier, I just mean I know how to do it verse not knowing much of anything in the realm of air suspension.

And I might as well go all out with the VIP thing. It has had my attention for the last 2 years when owning the Integra. Id love to save for some JP pillow neck rests, window curtains, accessory trays, etc.

That will be sick. It should be nice to see when both our cars get farther along one set up for performance first luxury second and one set up VIP with more focus on luxury and performance second. Should be a cool contrast and I think can be pulled off well going with either style.
