acura has very little information on the ILX on their website, i bet if it was to release any time earlier they would of released more information.

Should hit around 3rd to 4th QR but 4th quater would be extremly late. i see a mid 3rd qr release just intime for a mid summer purchase and a before school purchase!
3rd to 4th is kinda late, maybe for a Type S model it will be then but for the base model and the announced trim levels....they should be out by mid-late spring (according from a reliable source)

Speaking about the Type S ILX, Acura hasn't mentioned anything close to a Type S model, for now it's only been the Hybrid, 2.0 and 2.4L models. I won't expect to hear anything about Type S model until late 2012 - early 2013 and it's release by mid 2013 (my guess)

The 2.4 6 speed model is sporty enough to be a type s. What they need to do is come out with a coupe version with the 2.4 6 speed with larger brakes and a aero package. Maybe sportier interior.

Will the 6 speed be a LSD transmission?
To be fair the coupe civic looks like crap... as well,. so what i could imagine ais a civic coupe with an egale nose

The suspension system stays the same on all 3 ILX models and having sporty model with a tuned engine that puts out 20-30 more HP, upgraded suspension, brakes, interior, wheels and aero kit would do this car very well.

The type S prob uses the same suspension thats fitted int he civic SI on the 9th gen
Maybe, it would make sense looking at it at cost for a manufacture but the base model ILX has the same starting price as a Si Sedan so a Type S is going to cost much more than an Si, $7000 at least, $10k at most. Since Acura is going into a different direction here with making the ILX different from the Civic I have reason to believe the Type S will have a better suspension setup than a Si.
