Road and Track has compiled a list of the best vehicles that will cost you less than $30,000. On average, a new car will cost you more than $30,000, so these vehicles are great deals. Check out the list below:

1. 2013 Ford Mustang V6 Track Pack
2. 2013 Mini Cooper S
3. 2014 Chevrolet Sonic RS
4. 2013 Ford Focus
5. 2013 Mazda CX-5
6. 2013 Acura ILX
7. 2013 Mazda 2
8. 2013 Dodge Challenger
9. 2013 Mazda MX-5 Club
10. 2012 VW GTI
11. 2014 Mazda 6
12. 2013 Subaru BRZ

Mazda has the most entries on the list at 4, and the only other brand to have more than one entry is Ford with 2.

Do you think this list looks good the way it is? Are there any vehicles that you would add or remove?

Mazda 2, isn't it a Sub-Sub compact? Glad to see the ILX on the list. I paid more but still love our ILX. Rented a Jetta this weekend and we both are so glad we didn't buy the Jetta! Hard plastic, noisy, not many features and pleather everywhere!
I think that most of the cars on this list assume that you are buying pretty close to the base model. Mazda is good at making high-value, low-cost compacts. From the pictures I saw all the Mazdas are basically compacts.
A BRZ in 12th and a Mustang in 1st? What were they measuring ?
If someone was to show me this list of cars without them already ranked, and asked me to honestly rank them, I would place the ILX MUCH higher than it currently is now.

Then again part of what makes up this list, is the opinion of the Road & Track editor that put it all together.
Mazda and Ford must buy a lot of advertising on R&T

politics and sponsored money
