Ill de badge it, but I was wondering if anyone knows were to get a different Acura symbol for the rear so I can paint it black, and also where to get a set of chrome door lining so I can pain that black as well..... sorry about the bird poop. It'll be getting washed today. dumb birds, liking to poop on black cars.

Hey, welcome to the forum! Debadging is a good place to start; be very patient in removing your X as the ends can dig into the paint very easily.

As far as ordering an "A" you can find them @ multiple vendors. I have personally been using DCH Automotive Parts

Thanks! I'll make sure to take my time on that. That Web site is awesome!! I will be ordering some parts from them. I plan on blacking out the car, but need to keep the stock parts incase I want to turn it in when I finish my lease. Thanks for the help!

Welcome!

The site that trentimus recommended is a good place to get exact oem pieces. But before you start painting anything you should look in to maybe using plastic dip. Its easy to use and they have the glossy black that looks just like paint and your could peel it off if you make a mistake or have a second thought.

this is a person that used plastic dip gloss black on their nissan 370z rims.

Why do you want to get door moulding? I think it would just kill the clean side profile of the ILX. Even painted in black I still wouldn't advise it although it would look better.

You said it would kill the clean look? Then said it would look better? Thats why I want a second set, so I can either plastic dip it or paint it, and if it doesn't look good(which i highly doubt will happen) I can always change it back... I'm talking about the chrome trim if anyone was unsure of what I was referencing.

I just meant to say the chome would would better blacked out but meant to say it still wouldn't look clean to me.

But it is your car after all and that was just my opinion, once you do get it done, post a pic, maybe i'll think it looks clean enough.

If I'm not mistaken, I think you can buy the door guards in your specific color. When I de-badged my other cars; I used glossy dental floss and good helpings of goo gone spray + patience. Always worked out fine and I've never scratched the paint.

I was thinking about just taking out the "IL" and leaving the "X" to confuse the living crap out of anyone behind me... but I'm just weird like that.

Glad to see another Crystal Black on the new member section. Good luck with your modding!

Thanks man, I've already taken the ILX off and will be plasti-diping the rear "A" soon. Where do you think I could look for pre-colored door guards?
