Acura ILX Motor is K20? R18 or R20?

So word is from Acura that the motor is the same motor found in the current 9th Gen civic which is an R18 which also was in the 8th Gen Civic as well.

Here is a picture of the motor in the engine bay,

They bored out the motor .2L more to obtain 2 HP more and some more torque, but why use this motor? I know the recent R18 in the 9Th gen can achieve 40MPG, but why not use the De-tuned K20 for the base model, which were found in the previous Gen CSX, the predecessor of the ILX.

In a sense They are downgrading?

R18 are cheaper, but they have the blocks creating a bare block and a base motor like the k20A3 found in the SIR and Rsx's which honda have produced for years, and the R18 while it may be a newer block the torque numbers are terrible for daily driving, when someone buys a semi luxury car they expect more torque to over take cars and what not, but i guess that why they decided to bore the r18 into a r20 a 2.0L

Come to think about it honda been doing that for quiet some time just boring out exisinting blocks, D15>D16>D17

    B16>B18>B20 , K20>K23>K24 and so foruth..

That picture is an L-series engine out of the hybrid, not the R20 fwiw.
